Fad diets have been around for a long time and aren't going anywhere. People want to lose all of the weight and they want to lose it now despite it taking years and years to put it on. To avoid the consistent work of sustainable weight loss, people will try all of the latest fad diets promoted by "fitness gurus" including Keto, Intermittent Fasting, Vegan, HCG Diet and more. Some see results, some do not, and most of those who do see results end up gaining their weight back and then some because they could not maintain that diet/style of living. What can add to the confusion is that people success stories and "studies" backing these diets and why they supposedly work. Entire books and cookbooks have been written by qualified and unqualified fitness/medical professionals on each of these diets and why this is the best way to lose weight. Due to the pressure of making money and coming up with something that will "revolutionize the fitness industry," these very smart people will give people incorrect information as to why they are actually losing weight.
Why do people lose weight on fad diets?
Before I get too deep into this, I ask you to take in the information I am telling you without trying to interpret what I am not saying. Also, read the entire argument before you come at me with your own evidence and studies on your favorite fad diet and why it works. I am not trying to trash these fad diets, but rather, I am trying to shed the light as to why they work. Believe it or not, ALL of the fad diets for weight loss off the same ONE principle. YOU LOSE WEIGHT BECAUSE YOU BURN MORE CALORIES THAN YOU CONSUME! You don't lose weight on the Keto diet because it's Keto, you don't lose weight on Intermittent Fasting because of the fasting, you don't lose weight on a Vegan diet because you only eat plant-based products, and the same applies to all of the other Fad diets. Does that mean that all of these diets are bad? Not necessarily, but it is important to realize what actually causes weight loss, a negative calorie balance, not magical qualities of these fad diets.
So all Diets are bad?
This is where my above disclaimer comes in handy where I said to not read into what I am not saying. Obviously, not all diet strategies are bad, but the key is finding one that is MAINTAINABLE FOR YOU. For exmaple, if you are more likely to maintain your diet plan and calorie deficit on a Keto diet, then do a Keto diet. Same thing applies with Intermittent Fasting, Vegan, etc. I will go into more detail on each of these diets in the coming weeks, but it is very important to find something that you will stick to long term. So now that you know what drives weight loss (calorie deficit, not magic fad diet science), what should a diet incorporate?
What to incorporate in a weight loss diet
1. First and foremost, you will want to make sure you are eating fewer calories than you burn. If you need to know how many calories to eat you can either contact me, look up a metabolic rate calculator online or download MyFitnessPal and enter your information.
2. Make sure that you are getting adequate protein. An easy calculation is 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. If you are calculating based on a percentage of calories, protein should make up about 20-30% of your calories.
3. Make sure you can sustain this plan long-term. Long-term meaning the rest of your life. If you cannot maintain it for the rest of your life, then find something you can do. No need to make it overly complicated.
Remember, there is no need to make this overly complicated. Yes, there are better diet strategies than others (in my opinion) but start simple and build as you become more assimilated in your healthy lifestyle. In my last video, I told you there would be some big things coming from FBTF this year. First it was the clothing line and now this. If you sign up between now and April 30, 2019 you can get 4 FREE WEEKS of Online Personal Training! There are absolutely no gimmicks, no contracts to continue after the 4 weeks are over, just an old fashion FREE 4 Week offer to try FBTF's Online Training service. The only disclaimer is that you cannot currently be an FBTF Personal Training or Online Training client, BUT if you have trained with FBTF either in person or Online and are not currently training, you are still able to take advantage of this offer! However, I think you will like it so much that you will want to continue on after those first 4 weeks and you will easily be able to do so. Should you decide to continue on with Online Personal Training (4 weeks or 12 weeks), you will get a custom discount code for 25% off an entire order from the FBTF store!
Why am I doing this?
Plain and simple, I believe in YOU and that you CAN reach your fitness goals but maybe are hesitant to commit financially. I get it, I've been burned in the past with other services and felt like I was ripped off by not getting a decent trial of the service I was getting. Again, there is no obligation, commitment or purchase requirement to take advantage of this incredible offer! The only thing this requires is you to commit to pursuing your fitness goals 100% for 4 weeks to prove that YOU CAN make progress in your fitness goals.

Last year was by far the best year for Fit Body Toddy Fitness and I have all of my clients and supporters to thank for making it such a success. As we are now well underway in 2019, I wanted to share some exciting news that is coming this year and where FBTF is going. The first and most obvious change is the brand new FBTF website. The goal of this new website is to enhance your experience in interacting with FBTF online as you search for products and services so that you can easily find what you need. The second change is something you may already have seen, which is the launch of the initial products for the FBTF clothing line, which is extremely exciting. What I haven't explained yet is WHY I decided to launch this clothing line.
Why I launched the FBTF Clothing LIne
This decision was not simply one to try to snag a few bucks here and there with some cool looking gear. I created this line with a goal in mind to transform FBTF beyond just Personal Training and into a brand of fitness/training that reaches those who are looking to transform their lives and live a fitness lifestyle, not just chase the next fitness fad. My vision for this clothing line is to bring a sense of support and community in living a healthy lifestyle whenever you see someone wearing FBTF apparel. What does that mean as it relates to the FBTF community? This means that you embrace and practice the following:
If you are ready to make this commitment, visit our Online Store, shop for your favorite gear, and find a Fitness Service that you can do! Also be sure to follow FBTF on social media!
